The Underground Waste Station is a modern garbage collection facility that completely buries a single non-compressed garbage bin underground. It achieves sealed collection and storage of garbage through the only ground access points (for disposal and collection) that are retained. Its core purpose is to replace traditional ground garbage bins, addressing issues such as space occupation, odor diffusion, visual pollution, and secondary pollution in the process of urban garbage collection. It is suitable for various public places including communities, parks, commercial districts, and schools.
The key feature that distinguishes the Underground Waste Station from underground garbage compression stations is the absence of an internal compression device. It relies solely on the volume of the bin to store garbage, making the structure simpler and the maintenance cost lower, and it is suitable for scenarios with relatively stable garbage production and moderate collection frequencies.

Ground zero occupancy: The main box is deeply buried underground, with only a small discharge opening retained, saving space above the ground.
Sustainable design: The cover plate of the discharge opening can be customized to match the surrounding environment in terms of pattern or material, integrating with greenery or architectural style.
Barrier-free access: There is no ground-based trash can blocking the way, improving the conditions for pedestrians and vehicles, and enhancing the overall image of the area.
Odor control: The fully enclosed structure and ventilation system prevent odor diffusion.
Leak prevention design: Double-layer waterproof structure, collection tank, and dedicated sewage pipeline, eliminating the pollution of garbage leachate to the soil and groundwater.
Mosquito suppression: The underground sealed and constant-temperature environment effectively reduces mosquito breeding and lowers the risk of disease transmission.
Noise reduction: The garbage disposal and storage process takes place underground, reducing ground noise and improving the surrounding sound environment.
Large capacity storage: The volume of a single box ranges from 3 to 10 cubic meters, which is 10 to 30 times that of traditional trash cans, significantly reducing the frequency of collection.
Cost savings on labor: No frequent replacement of trash cans is required, improving collection efficiency by 50% and reducing the labor intensity of sanitation workers.
Maintenance cost reduction: Without complex compression machinery, the structure is simple, with low failure rate, and the maintenance cost is lower than that of compression-type systems.
The Underground Waste Station is a waste collection facility centered on a sealed, single-container structure. It is primarily installed in low-waste-output scenarios, including residential neighborhoods, schools, hospitals, parks, and small towns. Serving as a primary collection node in urban waste management systems, it enables the transitional storage and transfer of waste from decentralized collection points to centralized transfer stations or treatment facilities.
Underground main system
Foundation pit/crate: The outer barrel is fixed underground to provide support and protection; the inner barrel is used for directly storing garbage and can be lifted for removal as a whole.
Ground operation layer
Disposal access cover / Collection access cover: The disposal access is for users to deposit garbage, and the collection access is for garbage trucks to perform lifting operations. Both have sealing and anti-theft functions.
Auxiliary systems
Lifting mechanism / Ventilation system / Anti-seepage system: The lifting mechanism is used to lift the inner bucket; the ventilation system removes odors; the anti-seepage system prevents sewage from leaking and polluting the soil
Optional intelligent components
Overflow sensor / Deodorization module: Real-time monitoring of garbage volume, active air purification
(1) Garbage Container Body
It adopts an inner and outer double-layer bucket structure. The outer bucket is of a fixed design, while the inner bucket is of an adjustable and detachable design that can be lifted.
The common shape and size specifications are rectangular, with strong pressure resistance.
The size can be customized. The common volume is approximately 10 m³.
Lifting Design: The top of the inner bucket is equipped with 4 symmetrical lifting rings, and the edge is provided with a sealing groove to ensure a tight fit with the outer bucket.
Discharge Method: It adopts top lifting and flipping for discharge, compatible with the hydraulic lifting arm system of standard garbage collection vehicles.
(2) Lifting System
Type: Hydraulic lifting platform or simple hoisting guide rail. Non-compressed type usually adopts a simple hoisting system to reduce costs.
Lifting Force: Suitable for the full load weight of the inner bucket to ensure safe lifting.
(3) Ground Discharge Device
Material: Made of 4-6mm thick steel plate, with internal reinforcement ribs, featuring high load-bearing capacity
Opening Method: Manual opening or automatic sensor activation, opening angle ≤ 80°, to avoid collision
Sealing Performance: Utilizes rubber sealing strips, with high waterproof rating, preventing water infiltration and odor leakage
(4) Anti-seepage and Environmental Protection System
Anti-seepage layer: Anti-seepage membranes are laid on the bottom and sides of the outer bucket, and the seams are heat-melt welded.
Collection tank: A collection tank is set at the bottom of the outer bucket to collect the leachate from the garbage. It is connected to the municipal sewage network through a dedicated pipeline.
1. Garbage Disposal Process
User Operation: Open the ground disposal cover plate and place the sorted garbage into the disposal opening.
Garbage Transmission: The garbage slides into the underground sealed container through the disposal passage. The passage is designed with a structure to prevent jamming, ensuring the smooth descent of the garbage.
Automatic Sealing: After disposal, the cover plate automatically closes or can be manually closed. The sealing strip closely adheres, preventing the leakage of odors.
Temporary Storage: The garbage is stored in the underground container in a sealed manner, slowing down the fermentation speed of the garbage and reducing the generation of odors.
2. Garbage Collection Process
Preparatory Work: The collection vehicle arrives at the site, opens the collection cover, and connects the lifting equipment.
Box Elevating: Using the crane arm or lifting platform, vertically lift the inner bucket from the outer bucket to above the ground.
Box Transportation: Lift the garbage box onto the hook-arm vehicle, and transport it to the landfill.
Box Reset: After emptying, the box returns to its original position, closes the collection cover, and completes the collection operation.
Cleaning and Maintenance: Regularly clean and disinfect the inner bucket, and check the sealing performance and operation status of the lifting system.

Residential communities: Stable garbage generation, moderate collection frequency, emphasis on environmental aesthetics
Commercial districts: High foot traffic, large amount of garbage, requires large-capacity storage, reduces collection frequency
Park and scenic areas: Relatively small amount of garbage, focuses on integration with the landscape, avoids visual pollution
Schools and hospitals: Garbage generation is concentrated, requires safe and hygienic collection methods to prevent disease transmission
Industrial parks: Large amount of industrial waste, high requirements for equipment durability, suitable for heavy-load scenarios
The core advantages of Underground Waste Station, such as optimized space utilization, environmental friendliness, high efficiency and easy maintenance, have made it an ideal solution for modern urban waste collection. Although its non-compression design limits the reduction of waste volume, it offers significant advantages in terms of simple structure, lower cost and lower failure rate, making it particularly suitable for scenarios with relatively stable waste generation.
