Underground Double-container Garbage Collection Station

The underground double‑container garbage collection station is a practical underground waste handling solution built for municipal sanitation, residential compounds, townships and public zones. Most of its main assembly sits inside a concrete underground pit. Only feeding hatches and a small operating area stay above ground, which keeps the site neat without bulky above‑ground equipment ruining surrounding landscapes. This unit adopts a dual‑container layout. Two independent heavy‑duty waste boxes are stored underground at the same time. Once one container fills up, the mechanical lifting system hoists the loaded container entirely out of the pit. A regular sanitation transfer truck drives in, picks up the full container and hauls it away for disposal, while an empty replacement container gets lowered back underground to keep waste collection running without long interruptions. The whole‑box truck‑transfer workflow cuts intermediate waste handling steps and lowers risks of waste spillage and odour leakage.

 Key Product Advantages

Landscape‑friendly Footprint: Major hardware stays buried underground. Only compact feeding hatches and canopy show above ground. It fits well in residential areas, parks, town squares and scenic zones without visual pollution.

Dual‑container Continuous Operation: Two‑box design avoids complete shutdown during container swapping. Waste receiving can continue using the second container while one box is transported by truck. Great for locations with steady daily waste output.

Complete‑box Truck Transfer Minimises Secondary Pollution: Waste stays sealed inside containers from collection point all the way to treatment facility. No waste dumping‑and‑shovelling on‑site. This greatly reduces odour spread, garbage scattering and leachate spillage during handling.

Strong & Long‑service‑life Construction: Containers and lifting frames adopt heavy‑duty steel welding. Anti‑rust surface treatment handles outdoor wet environment and waste‑liquid contact. Routine maintenance focuses on hydraulic components, pulley and cable parts. Spare‑part replacement is convenient.

Wide Vehicle Compatibility: Containers are built to match standard municipal waste transfer trucks. Buyers do not need to purchase special custom‑made vehicles. Existing sanitation fleets can perform container haul‑away work, lowering total investment for waste‑management departments.

Flexible Installation: Installed within a prepared concrete pit. No large permanent building is required. It can be deployed in new urban projects or retrofitted into existing communities and town‑level sanitation sites.

 What this means in practice

The site stops smelling. Sealed containers below ground hold odors in. The waste sits in a cool, shaded pit instead of baking in an open bin.

The site stops looking like a waste point. No piles, no overflowing bins, no scattered litter around the hatches. The station reads as a piece of street furniture, not a dump.

You get space back. A station that occupies a few square meters replaces a row of bins. Plazas, courtyards, and sidewalks keep their usable area.

Flies and rodents lose their food source. Waste is closed off below ground. Pests cannot reach it, and there is nothing for them to breed in.

Collection costs come down. Two containers hold more than a fleet of bins. The truck comes less often, and one operator handles the whole transfer without touching the waste.

The system is built to last. Steel, concrete, and hydraulics are all repairable, replaceable parts. This is industrial equipment, not a consumer product with a planned lifespan.

Double-container Design for Flexible Waste Collection

One of the main advantages of this system is the double-container configuration.

Instead of placing two large garbage containers directly on the street, the containers are installed underground and separated into two independent storage spaces.

For example, a project could configure:

Container 1 Container 2
General municipal waste Recyclable waste
Household waste Commercial waste
Mixed waste Dry waste
Waste Stream A Waste Stream B

The actual configuration can be determined according to local waste classification policies and project requirements.

This arrangement can also help municipalities organize different waste streams without occupying additional surface area.

Underground Design Saves Valuable Surface Space

Urban waste collection points often compete with pedestrians, vehicles, landscaping, parking spaces, and commercial activities.

An underground garbage collection station moves most of the storage volume below the ground surface.

This can provide several practical advantages:

  • Reduced above-ground footprint

  • Cleaner streetscape

  • Less visual obstruction

  • Better utilization of limited urban land

  • More organized garbage collection points

  • Easier integration with landscaping

  • Suitable for residential and commercial developments

Underground container systems are widely used specifically because large waste storage capacity can be positioned below ground while keeping the visible installation relatively compact.

 Core Structure & Main Components

Underground Concrete Pit Foundation

The pit serves as the mounting cavity for lifting frames, guide rails and two waste containers. It is engineered for groundwater resistance and load‑bearing capacity. Drainage slots are reserved inside to collect leachate, preventing sewage overflow and corrosion of metal parts.

Dual Independent Waste Containers

Two heavy‑gauge steel containers work separately. Each container is fully enclosed to contain household waste, municipal solid waste. Thick‑welded steel panels resist impact, rust and waste‑liquid erosion. Every container is fitted with locking latches and sealed side panels. There is no cross‑contamination between the two boxes. Operators can use one container for general waste and the other for recyclables if needed. Containers are designed to fit directly onto standard waste‑transfer trucks for whole‑unit haul‑away.

Mechanical Lifting & Hoisting Assembly

Heavy‑duty vertical lifting columns, steel cable pulley groups and stable lifting frames make up the hoisting mechanism. Driven by hydraulic power units, the system lifts a full loaded container steadily from underground pit up to truck‑loading height. The pulley‑cable structure delivers stable lifting motion, avoiding tilting when heavy‑loaded containers rise. Safety lock mechanisms hold the container in position during maintenance and loading‑on‑truck operations to prevent accidental dropping.

Ground‑level Shelter & Feeding Hatches

The metal canopy covers the pit opening. It shields internal machinery from rain, dust and direct sunlight. Two separate feeding openings sit on the ground platform. Sanitation workers or residents dump waste directly through these hatches into underground containers. Closed hatch covers block most odour escaping and stop rainwater pouring into containers.

Hydraulic Power Pack & Electrical Control Cabinet

Hydraulic station supplies power for lifting actions. The control cabinet supports manual push‑button operation and remote control. Operators can trigger lifting, hold position and lowering sequences. Over‑load protection and travel limit switches are built‑in to avoid equipment damage caused by mis‑operation.

Step‑by‑Step Working Process (Whole‑Container Truck Transfer Mode)

Normal Waste Receiving Stage

Both containers rest inside the underground pit. Waste is dropped through ground‑level feeding ports into the sealed underground containers. The ground surface keeps clean, with no large‑size machinery exposed.

Full‑container Trigger

When one container reaches its rated loading capacity, operators activate the lifting cycle from the control panel. The hydraulic‑pulley system lifts the full waste container upward out of the underground pit until it reaches truck‑loading elevation. Safety latches engage to secure the lifted container.

Truck Docking & Container Loading

A sanitation transfer truck backs into position beside the station. The lifted full container is connected and secured onto the truck cargo bed. After fastening all safety chains and latches, the truck carries the entire loaded container away to landfill or waste‑treatment plant. There is no need to empty waste on‑site.

Swap Empty Container

After unloading the full container at waste‑treatment site, the same transfer truck brings back an empty spare container. The empty box is positioned over the pit opening. The station’s lifting mechanism lowers the empty container down into the underground pit and locks it in working position.

Resume Collection Service

With the empty container in place, feeding hatches reopen. The waste collection station returns to normal receiving status. Thanks to double‑container setup, the second underground container can keep accepting waste while one container is out for truck transport, minimising service downtime.

 Typical Application Scenarios

  • Urban residential communities, housing estates

  • Township and small‑city municipal sanitation projects

  • Tourist attractions, public parks, large‑scale plazas

  • Hospitals, schools, industrial parks and commercial zones

  • Places where high environmental requirements apply and frequent waste transfer is needed

 No Garbage Compression Function

It is important to distinguish the Underground Double-container Garbage Collection Station from an underground garbage compactor.

This system is designed mainly for:

Collection + Storage + Lifting + Transportation

It does not primarily rely on a hydraulic compression mechanism to compact the garbage.

Therefore, it is a suitable choice for projects where the main requirements are:

  • Underground waste storage

  • Classified collection

  • Space saving

  • Landscape-friendly installation

  • Convenient container lifting

  • Regular truck transportation

If a project requires significant waste volume reduction before transportation, an underground garbage compression station or underground waste compactor would be a more appropriate solution.

This distinction is important because different waste collection technologies serve different operational requirements. Underground systems can range from simple storage containers to more complex automated or compression-based systems.

Why Choose a Double-container Underground Waste Collection System?

For many urban projects, the challenge is not simply how to collect garbage, but where to store it before transportation.

Traditional above-ground containers can occupy pedestrian space and create an obvious waste collection area.

The Underground Double-container Garbage Collection Station takes a different approach by moving the main storage volume underground.

The result is a waste collection point that combines:

Underground Storage + Dual Collection + Lifting + Truck Transportation

This makes it particularly useful for projects where appearance, land utilization, waste classification, and transportation efficiency all need to be considered together.
